Natasha Bailanis – Director

Life

I obtained my BCom degree with Economics from the University of Pretoria in 1998 where I majored in Business Management and Communications. I started my career in the corporate arena of banking and finance at Mercantile Bank Limited and obtained significant experience in client relations as well as administration within the Asset Management division.

I worked on fine tuning my unit trust investment and advisory skills by working for two different, but highly reputable, independent financial advisory organisations.

Through this, I have gained considerable experience with respect to both local and international markets and have been responsible for maintaining high levels of client relations. I am proud to be one of the directors, shareholders and the practice manager of Omega Capital.

Money

For some people money is just a necessity, the need to have just enough money to meet life’s basic needs. To others money is freedom and independence. My life at Omega Capital has taught me the importance of saving and reaching my personal financial goals. This in turn I hope to have helped clients achieve their personal financial goals by passing on my knowledge and understanding of investing and saving.

Balance

Life is very much a balancing act, constantly trying to move forward with our purpose, to achieve our goals, all the while trying to keep in balance the various elements of our lives. It’s important to return back to the basics when things get out of control. A well balanced life is essential for personal effectiveness, peace of mind and living well. I try to achieve this by balancing what I have to do with what I enjoy doing. I have always had an incredible drive to work hard and focus on getting a tremendous amount of work done timeously and efficiently. Obviously trying to juggle the chores of life is not always that easy. The bonus is I love my job and everyday responsibilities so it does make the balancing act less challenging. Planning ahead and being organised are my strengths so at least when push comes to shove and I need to reshuffle my mindset to accommodate last minute planning I can adapt quickly and easily.

Sometimes it is very easy to forget the importance of balance in life but my family and friends play a very important role in my life and they are my support structure that I can always rely on. Spending time with them recharges my batteries and certainly helps with putting things back into perspective. I enjoy being outdoors and taking in what nature has to offer.

I enjoy keeping active and doing cross-fit in my spare time which certainly helps reduce the everyday stress and allows me to unwind. Reading is another pastime activity that I enjoy doing. For me taking a step back, a deep breath and a long walk helps me to refocus on myself!
