Life:
I currently live in Johannesburg. I am married to Judy and we have three children, twins Nicholas & Juliet who are students in the Western Cape and Megan who is at boarding school in Grahamstown. We all love the outdoors and firmly believe in the philosophy of “a healthy body equals a health mind”
I am passionate about exercise across all sporting metrics bar swimming! I probably spend most of my time mountain biking, having completed various stages of the Freedom Challenge and numerous other endurance events. I am drawn to sport, not only for its competitive nature but also for the privilege of been close to nature and having the unique opportunity of participating as a team or as an individual.
As a family we travel locally from the shores of the Eastern Cape to trout rivers of Mpumalanga and the bushveld of the Hoedspruit conservancies.
I have always had a passion for markets. After completing my commerce degree at Rhodes University in 1991, I started my career at the JSE on Diagonal Street with Fergusson Bros.
A few years later I was fortunate to be transferred to the then recently opened Investec offices in London. My international experience taught me the importance of building authentic relationships over the long term as well as how critical effective communication with clients is especially when markets were challenging. The environment was fiercely competitive, and it taught me to adapt quickly to meet client’s changing needs in order to deliver a superior and differentiated value add.
Fast forward 8 years and the lure of family, friends, weather and bushveld lead us back to South Africa. It was then when I started my 14 year career with BoE Private Clients (Subsequently rebranded Nedbank Private Wealth) firstly in a position as Head of Stockbroking and concluding my final 4 years as Head of Investment Management. I had the privilege of a fulfilling career at Nedbank.
The wealth management industry is highly competitive, and it is critical one adjusts to the changing environment to meet the expectations of all clients. I believe in an independent client centric approach backed up by a vigorous investment and advice process. I was attracted to Omega Capital through their approach of LIFE- MONEY- BALANCE and that we journey with our clients through all stages of the life cycle.
Money:
Through my 30 years in the financial industry, I have had the opportunity to look at the influence money has on one’s life and the importance of this relationship. Building wealth has little to do with how smart you are and more about how you behave. At Omega Capital we develop long-term relationships with a strong foundation built on trust. Ultimately this will influence your financial behaviour thus ensuring a lasting legacy.

Balance:
In order to live a fulfilling, resilient and purposeful life, I strive to balance the physical, social, mental and spiritual areas of my life. I believe mind body balance is the pillar for pushing physical and intellectual boundaries. It enables me to think with clarity and act responsibly. Ultimately one’s true sense of purpose and passion lies in being able to give to others (be it through advice) so they, in turn can reach their goals.
